Jill Myers Photography bio picture
  • Welcome to my website!  I'm a photographer and loyal Baltimorean. Growing up, I was the quiet kid who faded into the background with my little crew of best friends, but absorbed everything going on around me. I guess it's no surprise that I'm still like that. Photography is a perfect fit for me as it allows me to step into people's lives and produce my own artistic interpretation of them.

I love the excitement and insanity of weddings and chasing rugrats around to get that perfect shot. Being there to document the most important parts of people's lives and giving them something special to hang on to forever is my passion.

Take a look around and check back often for new blog posts below! Contact me with questions or to set up a time to discuss your photography needs.

Snowmageddon 2010 | Baltimore Photography

Well, the story is pretty much the same all around here.  Snow, snow, and oh yeah, here’s some more snow. I haven’t been to my day-job since last Friday and have to say that I’ve been loving it.  I have almost finished painting my spare bedroom, but that is pretty much the only really productive thing I did this week.  The more time I have on my hands, the less I get done, so I’m ready to go back to work tomorrow and start living life again! I need deadlines and to-do lists.

I had fun the other evening trudging through the snow to the grocery store up the street and taking some night photos.  The way the snow lights up everything even at night and the quiet streets felt surreal, but beautiful.

The buried cars actually gave me the creeps.  They seem dead. Here is the street we have to take to get to the main road with a tree down across it.  Fortunately someone came and moved it within a couple days…I don’t know if it was the city, a private contractor, or a neighbor, but it got done. The view from my front porch today:I’m standing in the middle of my street here.  No plows hit this block, but the neighbors banded together on Monday and we moved the cars on my side over to the Rotunda parking lot one at a time like a parade.
This is the sidewalk in front of my house with snow piled higher than my head.  I bet we’ll still have piles left all the way through the beginning of summer.I hope everyone stayed safe this week.  I felt so bad for those who lost power!  I also thought often of all the people who worked so hard to clear the roads, fought fires, cared for the sick, fixed broken utilities, and more!  Thanks to everyone for keeping us going.

Baltimore Bride Magazine | Real Weddings

I’m so excited to share that Anna and Dan’s July wedding at the American Visionary Art Museum was featured in the Baltimore Bride 2010 issue, which is published by Baltimore Magazine. I scanned the pages below, but you should see this in print to really get the full effect (note that the magazine cover image is not mine). You can find it in most places that sell magazines in the Baltimore area. It’s online as well on the Baltimore Bride website.

Check out my original post on their wedding to see my favorite images. The magazine picked which images to use from about 100 that I gave them. The largest one that you see first below is definitely one of my top picks as well.

Thanks to Anna and Dan for being such a fun couple to work with and for pulling together such a wonderful event!

New Year, New Site! Baby Jack! | Baltimore Photographer

I’m still tweaking things a bit, but am digging this new site so far.  Feedback is always appreciated, so let me know if anything doesn’t seem to work right.  I’ve combined my blog and main website into one place to keep things more streamlined.

Moving on….it seems appropriate that my first post on my new site is featuring little man Jack considering that he was the star of my first real blog post back in 2007.  He was on here again at 8 months old and then 1 year.  Not only is Jack back here again at 2.5 years old, but he has been joined by little sis, Anika!

I had such a nice time last weekend hanging out with this wonderful family again.  I was excited to meet Jack’s grandparents who were in town for the weekend for Vicki’s birthday.  Jack was so cute with his “Pa”…pulling his mustache, giggling, and snuggling up on the couch with him.

Here she is….sweetie-pie drool-monster Ani:
This is Jack’s piggy face.  I’ve seen this before at past sessions…he’s an old pro now.Gettin’ serious with mommy:This was so cute.  Jack’s grandpa made a pretend “ouch” sound when Jack pulled his mustache and Jack thought he had really hurt him and started crying.Silly tears:I always love the family pics that capture the chaos….that’s real life.Vicki took this one with my camera.  I love these kids!

Julian Xmas Pics, cont. | Baltimore Photographer

As promised, here are some more photos from my holiday photo shoot with one of my favorite families. Julian is so full of energy and I can just see his little mind working as he runs around and looks for the next thing to explore.

Oh, the drama! The smiley pic of him by the tree that I put in the first post was taken about 10 seconds after this one.

Here’s pretty Julia unsuccessfully trying to slow him down for a second.

I love the funny shots that can come out of an attempt to do a serious photo.

Here are a couple quiet moments.

This is one of my favorites. He looks wise beyond his years.

Teddy bear!

Happy Holidays to all!!!

Bailey, cont. | Baltimore Baby Photographer

What better time to update my blog than when I’m snowed in? The cabin fever hasn’t set in yet, but it probably won’t be much longer before I must escape. Anyway, here are a few more pics of cutie-pie Bailey:

Yes, it’s the back of her head….but isn’t it just so fuzzy and adorable???

Snuggles from Mommy:

Now this is one of the best parts about being a photographer.I loved seeing this collage that Becky put together of some of the photos I took of Bailey as a newborn.

Yay, love me some babies!
