Congrats to J & C on their new baby boy! I have been soooo looking forward to meeting this little man. His awesome parents deserve every wonderful moment they’re having with him.
I first met J & C a little over a year ago under very different circumstances. They were the very first family I ever photographed as a volunteer with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. Their first baby boy came too early and lived just a few precious hours. I felt so honored to be there with them during his brief life and ended up staying for a few hours while we waited for the priest to come baptize their son. It was several months later that they contacted me to share the news that they were expecting again and they asked me to take monthly portraits through the last five months of her pregnancy. These were mini-sessions where we shot in the same spot in their house and used similar poses so that you could see the progress of her growing belly.
I’m posting a shot from our first maternity session and one from the last….and then of course, the baby! I’ll post more later, but these are some quick ones I edited last night. Most of their family lives out of the country, so there were some people that were unsurprisingly very anxious to see photos of this little guy!
Little belly, big hearts:

Getting close….

Introducing….

All the baby pics were taken in the hospital as you could probably guess – he’s sporting the ID bracelet and diaper look here. I couldn’t resist that face!

New daddy C took this sweet pic of me and da baby. I couldn’t believe how tiny and light he was! I’m admiring his wrinkly little feet here:
